Understanding Life Phenomena and
Pioneering Innovative Biotechnologies

The wide variety of life phenomena constructed over a long evolutionary history have been achieved through the accumulation and emergence of higher-order chemical phenomena and biomolecules. However, due to insufficient understanding of their molecular mechanisms, many of them have not been fully utilized in their applications. Our goal is to understand life phenomena from the standpoint of molecular biochemistry, and based on this unique knowledge, to pioneer innovative biotechnologies that contribute to solving environmental, energy, and food problems.
